The 10G PON Series ONUs (SmartAX MA5818, MA5821/MA5822, and MA5898) are 10G PON multi-service access devices provided by Huawei and are mainly used in FTTB and FTTC scenarios. These series products support upstream 10G PON ports and are compatible with PON networks, achieving smooth upgrade from PON to 10G PON and meeting capacity expansion requirements on developing future ultra-broadband.
SmartAX MA5818, MA5821, MA5822, and MA5898 are multi-service 10G Passive Optical Network (PON) access devices to enhance Fiber-To-The-Building (FTTB) and Fiber-To-The-Curb (FTTC) high-bandwidth services.
Huawei SmartAX access device series supports 10G PON ports for upstream transmission and are compatible with PON networks.

The SmartAX MA5821 is a multi-dwelling unit (MDU) launched by Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd.
The SmartAX MA5821 Remote Optical Access Unit (MA5821 for short) applies in fiber to the building (FTTB) and fiber to the curb (FTTC) scenarios.
In the upstream direction, the MA5821 provides an SFP uplink optical port that supports 10G GPON or GPON upstream transmission. In the downstream direction, the MA5821 provides 8, 16, 24 FE electrical ports or 24 GE electrical ports. The MA5822 provides the access service for POTS user.
